Envy Code R preview available

Update: Damien just e-mailed me again... he's released a new version of the font that has my capital E issue fixed. We talked a bit about the varying sizes, and he says he's optimized for 10-point (which is just too small for me, but explains why 15-point looks very good). I'm not sure if it's a permanent or temporary addition to my development mode Visual Studio, but it's a great font none-the-less.

Damien Guard just e-mailed me to let me know that Envy Code R is available as a downloadable preview.

It looks very good in Visual Studio in my presentation mode, and will probably become my new favorite projected font. Here it is in 15-point using mostly stock Visual Studio colors:

It was harder to find a point size that looked good in my normally dark coding mode. At smaller sizes, there is some additional hinting that could be helpful; the lowercase m can have its legs pushed too closely together, and I've seen some oddities like the top edge of the uppercase E being too thick. Here it is again, this time in 11-point (I think I'd rather use 12-point, but it has too many of those oddities at the moment):

Finally, here it is in iTerm on OS X 10.4.8, in 14-point, looking very acceptable for terminal work:
